So obviously . He gets taken in, he lives his life as part of a dynamic duo, him and Diluc, brothers, pals, buddies, besties, they are homeboys, they are brothers they are BROHTERS they are FAMILY .

Ok anyway their dad (Diluc's bio dad, Kaeya's adopted) fucking die s. Because of Fatui and things anyway so That causes Kaeya to be like "Oh holy fucking shit I am having so many violently conflicting feelings. Because on one hand my undying loyalty to my home nation makes me feel almost relieved. Because I won't have to let one father down to make another happy. there is less of a tie to this Archon's land for me. That is. important. But also HE RAISED ME. HE WAS MY FATHER AND HES DEAD HES GONE WHY DO I FEEL LIKE THIS??"

So hec omes. clean to diluc about, yk, being from another nation as an agent and Diluc, who is, yk, grieving the traumatic event of his father dying right in front of him, is mad and upset, they fight, Kaeya's eye (which he already kept covered, why? no idea I have too many thoughts and theories to narrow down a favorite idea) is injured, Diluc goes on his little emo anti-Fatui rampage,uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kaeya becomes Cavalry Captain and also an Alchoholic (because of the horrors) so . Yeah :)
